Background

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Minnesota (Minnesota license LP4645). I received my doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas in September of 2004. I also received a masters degree in counseling psychology from St. Thomas and a Bachelors of Arts degree from St. Olaf College. I completed my clinical training in an internship at the University of Minnesota Medical School in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health

In addition to my private practice, I have been an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of St. Thomas since 2006. I have taught courses in child development and psychopathology, lifespan development, and supervised students in their clinical training.

Prior to entering private practice, I worked in medical research for a number of years, including a position as a Research Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota studying the psychosocial impact of cancer treatment on pediatric patients. I also worked briefly at a local adoption agency performing psychotherapy with children, adolescents, individuals, families and couples, as well as developing and presenting educational programs for adoptive parents.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Minnesota Psychological Association (MPA), and the national and Minnesota chapters of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
